I have no idea where the bad reviews are coming from, people must be expecting a house vacuum cleaner haha. This Vacuum works perfect for a vehicle. The suction is very good.....it even picks up pennies, dimes, and small rocks on the carpet. I would recommend this highly

The Black and Decker car vacuum worked well, picking up pieces of grass and small pebbles. It got under the front seats well. The only problem I noticed was cleaning the carpet evenly when there were no particles to pick up.

Excellent for spot cleaning, but it will not replace a good vacuum. I purchased this to keep in the car for routine cleanups and catching messes when they happen. The cord is nice and long, so that helps. Overall, not a bad buy but probably better at a lower price.

I was afraid that this vacuum would not have enough power to pick up the dirt in my car because of some of the reviews. I find that it works fine! It's not a high power vacuum, but it picks up very well in between. The adjustable nozzle is a plus. It has been able to get to most (if not all) areas of my car. It is very convenient.

The vacuum has started having a problem after only 13 months of ownership and about a dozen uses. What happens is that the power turns off as I'm using it. I have to unplug the 12V adapter going into my car, replug it, and then use the vacuum for another few minutes before it cuts out again. It's under warranty and I'll get it repaired, but I would have hoped that the vacuum would have lasted for longer than it has without breaking. I believe there's a problem with the cord going into the back of the vacuum.
As for the vacuum itself, I like it although it could be more powerful. Suction, as has been pointed out in other reviews, is kind of weak with the attached hose. I only use the attached hose with the brush attachment so that I can actually clean up the carpet of my car. I thought this was an overall excellent product until the power problems started.
I haven't been pleased with B&D products over the past 5 years. The quality control is not what it used to be. I'm disappointed to discover there's not only problems with their rechargeable products, but with the corded ones, as well.
